The results of the Construction & Planning Agency (CPA), Ministry of the Interior- organized “Eye on Taiwan” photography competition have been announced! 53 works are being exhibited in National Taiwan Museum.
Hsieh Tsong-hsian's gold medal-winning photo “Veil of mystery” is almost perfect in terms of composition and light and shadow use, with the two children in the bottom left hand corner and the “Buddha face” on the Taroko Gorge cliff face in the top right hand corner seemingly looking at each other, showing the photographer’s meticulous approach and effort. The silver medal winner “Another cave,” was taken by Hu Cai-feng in Taroko National Park. The “two side-by-side caves in the gorge and the beauty of asymmetry”, the tracks of moving cars and static outline of feet show his creativity. The bronze medal winner was Chen Chi-ping’s “Face of Hehuan”. The light is even and gold is the dominant color. The 井 (well character) composition and the Taroko high mountain flower Shady Groundsel are combined properly.
The winning works were put on show in National Taiwan Museum on November 20 and will be exhibited until March 22, 2009.You are warmly invited to view the photographs and enjoy the beauty of Taiwan’s national parks.
