National Parks of Taiwan

The Maobitou Park Visitor Center Outdoor Accessible Trail and Area was announced by Kenting National Park on January 4, 2017, and the Black-faced Spoonbill Protection Area Bird-Watching Pavilion Accessible Area was announced by Taijiang National Park on July 4, 2017. Following on from these two, Yangmingshan National Park announced on March 12, 2018 the 3rd accessible recreational area, the Erziping Recreation Area Accessible Trail, providing accessible space for the public.

The Erziping Recreation Area Accessible Trail is about 1800 meters long, with a gentle slope that winds below the lush forest. It takes just 50 minutes one-way to reach the Erziping Recreation Area. The Area is often shrouded in clouds and mist, where the clouds and water integrate into a single beautiful landscape, making it a perfect place for extended families to visit.

The Ministry of the Interior points out that, while abiding by the conservation priorities of the National Parks, designs for National Parks will evolve from "accessible design" to "universal design" concepts. This will mean continually improving the construction of accessible environments and providing more comprehensive accessible travel services.
