Urging Hikers to Take Home Their Own Trash in Order to Promote and Implement the Leave No Trace Movement The Walami Trail in the Eastern Area of Yushan National Park has become a popular destination for hikers, especially during long weekends, where applications to stay at the Walami Mountain Cabin and campsite quickly fill up available vacancies. The Leave No Trace (LNT) Movement has been promoted for a number of years, and it is hoped that hikers staying at Walami will jointly promote and implement LNT by adequately disposing of their waste, respecting wildlife and looking after the environment for the sake of other visitors. Please take your own kitchen waste and trash with you before leaving the mountain area to prevent wild animals from picking and eating leftovers, in turn changing their ecology, habitat and the natural environment. We urge hikers to take home their own trash in order to promote and practice LNT. Please refer to the attached link for the Forestry Bureau’s LNT website.
