Yushan National Park Headquarters hosted the "Opening Ceremony for the Renovated Nan-an Station Exhibition Hall" at 10AM on May 4, 2018 at the Nan-an Visitor Center.
The design concept of the renovations is based on forests and rivers. The exhibition starts with the forest light box tunnel, in which visitors can enjoy the visual experience of walking along the Walami Trail, and continues into the main exhibition area, where visitors explore the beauty of the diverse local wildlife along the Lakulaku River route. The exhibition includes a traditional stone slab house which displays traditional Bunun textiles, accessories, and artifacts from daily life. The Formosan black bear exhibition implements augmented reality technology to provide a video of the bears' lives and an anatomical model of the animal. The interactive display helps visitors better understand of the behaviors of Formosan black bears.
