"Frogs of Yangmingshan" Receives "Little Green Sprout Award" from Environmental Protection Administration in Recognition of Book's Value to Environmental Education

Frogs of Yangmingshan, an educational book published by the Park Headquarters, was a contender in the Environmental Protection Administration's "First Little Green Sprout Award Winning Picture Book" event in 2013. The book was highly praised by the judging panel and received Honorable Mention in the Government Publications for Children and Adolescents category. The Park Headquarters commissioned the Taiwan Environmental Information Center to create this book. Written by Professor Yi Ju Yang of the National Dong Hwa University's Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Studies, and featuring three other contributing authors, the book is written in clear, easy-to-understand language and contains fun and accurate hand-drawn illustrations, allowing readers to explore the world of frogs. With its lively and captivating descriptions, it is a book suitable for all the family members. The book introduces the habitats of different species based on the change of seasons and the scenic spots in the Park in addition to presenting detailed illustrations and photographs of frogs. To give readers more insight into the lives of frogs, 19 different frog sounds have been especially recorded for the book. Readers can listen to any of the unique frog calls by simply scanning the QR code, and the audio will be delivered via mobile device, allowing readers to feel as though they are being transported into the midst of nature while reading about each kind of frog.
