Premiere of the film “1000 years of Atayal Culture”, new book launch and Atayal installation art opening ceremony
The premiere of the Atayal migration-themed drama “1000 years of the Atayal”, a beautiful and moving story that won the top platinum prize in the 41st Houston International Film Festival, was held at last on August 3, 2008 in Shei-pa National Park’s Wenshuei Visitor Center. The event also featured a documentary showing how ancient Atayal people built their villages, the premiere of the full length film, an art exchange tea party, the launch of the book “1000 years of the Atayal” and a talk by the director following the premiere of the film. In addition, the Shei-pa National Park website explained how ancient Atayal villages were built and the process of planning and filming the film in Chinese and English, aiming to give the public a deeper understanding of the film and use a lively method to promote Atayal life and culture (泰雅族生態文化) and make international friends care more about and have a better understanding of Atayal culture.
