Last Updated: 2016-06-14
Shei-Pa National Park Administration commissioned a team headed by Professor Sun Yun-xun of National Pingtung University of Science and Technology to collect data on the ecology of the tawny fish owls in the Wuling area of the Shei-Pa National Park. It took the team more than three years to complete the assignment. The research they did was incorporated into talking points in tours and published in 2014 as a book and a film: A Mysterious Bird of the Night—the Tawny Fish Owl. The film and the book enable the public to know more about this precious species and the ecology along the Qijia River The book and the film A Mysterious Bird of the Night—the Tawny Fish Owl have unveiled the mysteries of the tawny fish owls, enabling the public to know this elusive bird. Also through the preservation of the tawny fish owls, they help people to care more about this land. We hope that the publication of this film and book will help the public understand the richness and diversity of natural life and ecology in our national parks. If they have hit a chord with you, perhaps you will be more mindful of the environment in everything that you do in your everyday life. Perhaps you may even support or join the ranks of people who are helping preserve our environment. Perhaps you may become a most dedicated force in the promotion of environment preservation in the national parks system.
