In-depth Spring Bike Tour Around Kinmen Planned

The Lieyu Station of the Kinmen National Park Headquarters is organizing an in-depth bike tour on the island on April 28 and 29. During the bike tour, visitors will have a chance to taste local specialties.

The bike route around Kinmen enables visitors to experience the ecosystem along the tank road, and the craftsmanship of constructions and facilities for war. Visitors can likewise join exciting treasure hunt activities in underground tunnels and inside iron fortifications. Among these sites, the mysterious Gueishan Tunnel is open to the public for the first time.

Besides biking around, visitors should not miss local snacks like the vegetable cake at the General Shanglin Temple. They can make their own red turtle-shaped rice cakes and taste oyster noodles. Lieyu’s fruit season means visitors can go fruit-picking in addition to biking.

Register for the bike tour from April 8 to 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 16:30 p.m. Contact Lieyu Station through tel. 082-364411 or 364405. Or try fax: 082-364406. E-mail address is: lieyu@kmnp.gov.tw
