Kinmen National Park Headquarters calls on residents and visitors not to drive cars onto the bird watching trails, avoid making loud noises, sudden movement and wearing bright colors to avoid scaring birds

As the end of the year approaches the bird migration season is with us again and the large number of lovely visitors from the north have made the skies over Kinmen colorful. Kinmen National Park Headquarters said that Kinmen is surrounded by sea and is on the edge of Mainland China, making it an ideal rest stop for migrating birds, giving Kinmen a high level of bird species diversity. Almost 300 species of common and rare bird are regularly seen in Kinmen, more than any other place in Taiwan. Some of these birds have only been recorded in Kinmen not in Taiwan. In winter and autumn the bird watching in Kinmen is excellent, with Ci Lake, the mouth of the Wu River, Tianpu Reservoir and Lingshui Lake all very good places to bird watch. The park headquarters has recently received reports from the public about a small number of people driving cars onto Ci Lake bird watching trail, scaring the birds away. The park calls on residents and visitors not to drive cars onto the bird watching trails, avoid making loud noises, sudden movement and wearing bright colors to avoid scaring birds.
