Kinmen National Park implemented migrating birdand important wetland ecology conservation strategies, and commissionedProfessor Liu Hsiao-Ju, the authority in bird research in Taiwan, and ResearchFellow Chiang Chung-You to conduct a “Kinmen Bird Migration Ecological Survey”in 2012 to understand the ecological behavior and migration path of Kinmen’sbirds. The research team has discovered Eurynorhynchuspygmeusin the Cihu wetland for three consecutive years since 2012, showing that Cihuprovides a stable and suitable habitat for many endangered migrating birds thatpass through Kinmen.
