To celebrate the 12th birthday of the Marine National Park Headquarters-managed Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park, the “Bird Art Collection Exhibition” is being held in the park’s exhibition hall from April 4 to June 29. The exhibition was made possible by Mr. Rui-yao Ou’s generous loan of his bird art collection. Driven by his love of birds and guided by his unique art taste, veteran ornithologist Mr. Ou has acquired an outstanding collection of bird-themed art works, including a dodo(嘟嘟鳥)-themed work, an iron sculpture by Ting-zan Liu (劉丁讚), a stone sculpture by Yuan Lin (林淵), works by Ci-wei Liu (劉其偉) and Ying-feng Yang (楊英風) and also various owl and goose-themed works made using a variety of materials and ranging from impressionist to realist in style. The works will be shown during national holidays and at weekends from 9am to 5 pm. At other times, groups of over 10 people can arrange a visit in advance.
