The Taijiang National Park Headquarters held the Chengxi Low-Carbon Kitchen workshop from July 20 to July 24, 2013. The focus of the workshop was to empower youth through offering farming, self-sustained community experience and low-carbon tourism attractions. Combined community resources were used to establish a community ecology preparation repository and to create the Chengxi Low-Carbon Kitchen as a base for real-world experimentation aimed at providing low-carbon environmental education.
Mr. Lama Moltis (Lu Mu-jen) has designed a mobile wood-burning stove that uses firewood for fuel. The stove utilizes the principle of secondary combustion to create an improved stove. The stove has a "Western", robot-like design; the baking chamber is on top and the wood-burning chamber is on the bottom. Below the stove, there is a collection bin for wood ash, which can be recycled as fertilizer or compost. Heat energy released by the stove can be used to heat water. The stove is mobile and can provide residents with a baking or roasting cooking option at community gatherings. The store will be used in low-carbon kitchen workshops.
