The Unrivaled Power and Spirit of Taiwan NGOs: An interview with THC CEO Juju Chin-Shou WANG (Part 2)

This year, Wang began to aggressively promote the NGO called the United NGOs (UN) and established the Third Sector Industrial Promotion Center to recruit professionals from different fields to this NGO. Wang applied for the event called People Power Plant (PPP) to advocate energy democracy with the power of community development. The United NGOs Headquarters emphasizes the concept of diplomacy with earth. In fact, there are many beautiful places in Taiwan. Thanks to national parks for protecting these natural environment and bio-resources, so that we can live on this precious and lovely land. With reference to the national park operation experience in Hokkaido and Panama, we can entrust national park management to indigenous peoples based on the Trust Law. We should strengthen partnership with indigenous peoples, as they are experts of local life. The habitat of species may extend across regions in the jurisdiction of different government departments. By establishing a good eco-corridor to protect these habitats and expand the scope of conservation, we can contribute to the environment and Taiwan through the concerted efforts of the public and voluntary sectors, and this is something the government should consider. Also, charitable trusts should combine culture with ecology to demonstrate the civilian power, i.e., the "civilian group." This can expand the scope of national parks to facilitate ecology conservation and allow total participation in conserving Taiwan and the development of closer partnership. In doing so, we can ensure the sustainable development of Taiwan and realize the idea "1+1+1>111" by combining environmental, social, and economic systems. The government and public should work together to promote and enhance the circle of happiness! (End)
