Last Updated: 2016-06-14
Taroko National Park is filled with canyons, forests and tribal culture. Many spectacular events are held during spring each year and showcase the vigorous land, inviting people to go for an outing during early spring. Taroko National Park Headquarters has collaborated with private organizations in utilizing resources and features of communities along the Central Cross-Island Highway for environmental education events featuring local themes. These events offer an in-depth experience of the beauty of Taroko. The headquarters organized a series of “tribal concerts” and “Taroko tribe traditional handicraft and culture experience activities” for visitors to experience the Taroko tribe’s culture up close. The events invite traditional musicians and craftsmen in surrounding areas of Taroko National Park to take you on a journey to see the cultural beauty of the Taroko tribe. “A Date with Tianxiang” Lecture Series Tianxiang is located on the east section of the Central Cross-Island Highway, roughly 19km from Taroko, and enjoys high reputation for its rich and diverse natural and cultural resources, which has attracted tourists from all around the world. The area has a vast hinterland with hotels, camping grounds, restaurants, bus stop, parking lot, and post office, making it a good place for tourists to stop and experience the national park. Taroko National Park Headquarters will hold a series of “A date with Tianxiang” lectures each month starting in March to provide even better services and a more in-depth experience. In addition to the animals, plants, history, and culture of Taroko National Park, this year’s lecture series also includes hiking stories on the Central Cross-Island Highway during the summer. If you want to know what it was like being a hiker on the Central Cross-Island Highway in the 70s and 80s, you can’t miss this event! Taroko National Park Headquarters provides the latest information on activities or policies before each lecture as part of its role to conserve and interpret the national park, hoping to raise visitors’ awareness of conservation. Accommodations options in Tianxiang and the nearby Lushui areas include Silks Palace Taroko, Tianhsiang Youth Activity Center, and Heliou Camping Grounds. Taroko National Park Headquarters reminds visitors intending to travel to the areas to not miss the opportunity to hear these spectacular lectures. Rich with diverse and intellectual activities, how can you miss Taroko in spring? Come with friends and family to Taroko National Park!
