Remember the WildViewTaiwan Film Festival held in Kaohsiung in November and December last year? The ShoushanNational Nature Park Preparatory Office once again organized the film festivalin 2014, showing 20 of the world’s top natural ecology films, so thatenvironmental education may yield fruitful results in Southern Taiwan.

The 2014WildViewTaiwan Film Festival Now Open in Shoushan! The WorldView Taiwan Film Festival wasfirst held in 2011, and continued to work with England’s Wildscreen Festivaleach year after receiving excellent responses. The number of visitors in 2013alone exceeded 30,000. Seeing that the festival has the same purpose asShoushan National Nature Park to promote ecological conservation, thePreparatory Office organized a film tour in Kaohsiung in November and December2013, not just showing the films in the Preparatory Office’s education center,Shou Shan Zoo and local NGOs, but also schools at each level and remote areasin Kaohsiung. Nearly ten thousand people saw the films, which is nearly a thirdof the film festival’s total audience in Taiwan, showing how much Kaohsiungpeople love nature.

The Preparatory Office hopes that bypromoting films of the Wildscreen Festival, it will open a window let citizenssee the beauty and wonders of the natural world, and cause citizens to attachimportance to global environment crises, build concepts of caring for ecology, and take actions to care for the planet.
